Hastings is making the most of its move to the Metro East Conference. The Raiders are closing in on a league title and can inch closer with a victory at St. Thomas Academy.

Hastings (15-3) sits atop the league standings at 9-1, but the Cadets aren't far behind at 8-3 and have the distinction of being the team that handed the Raiders that lone loss (74-61 on Dec. 12).

No. 6-3A St. Thomas Academy (13-6) was impressive on offense in the victory, as junior Nate Chaffee scored 23 points, senior Kai Endahl finished with 19 and senior Ryan Jacobsen added 14. Jacobsen (19.6 ppg), Chaffee (13.4 ppg) and Endahl (13.1 ppg) lead the Cadets in scoring.

Hastings senior guard Sam Skoyen scored 18 points, a fraction more than his team-leading season average (17.9 ppg), while senior forward Craig Nielson (14.3 ppg) and senior guard Joe Dittrich (10.8 ppg) finished below their averages with 13 combined points in the loss.
