Edina at Minnetonka
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30

The Lake Conference can lay claim to being one of the state's strongest leagues, with three of the five teams ranked in Class 4A.

No. 7 Edina (12-4) and No. 4 Minnetonka (14-3) enter the week tied for second place in the standings with identical 2-1 records, and a victory would continue recent trends by both teams.

The Hornets are on the rise, having won four consecutive games. The key to Edina's success is an effective defense, which is limiting opponents to a paltry 42.5 points per game.

Sophomore forward Annika Jank (17.2 ppg) and senior guard Jill Morton (15.9 ppg) are the Hornet's leading scorers.

Minnetonka experienced its first losing streak of the season after losses to No. 3-4A St. Michael-Albertville and at No. 1-4A Hopkins last week.

Courtney Fredrickson (16.9 ppg) and Caroline Shelquist (11.1) lead the Skippers in scoring.

Minnetonka won both games last season.
