Park Center vs. Maple Grove
At Osseo Junior High School
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30

Two of the top teams in the Northwest Suburban Conference West Division meet when Park Center plays Maple Grove at Osseo Junior High School on Jan. 30. The game was moved after a broken pipe flooded the Maple Grove High School gym, damaging the floor.

The Pirates and the Crimson enter the week tied atop the league standings with identical 4-0 records.

Park Center (13-3) extended its winning streak to six games with a 75-57 victory over Blaine on Jan. 22. Two of the Pirates' three losses have been to ranked Class 4A teams in No. 9 Centennial and No. 4 Minnetonka.

Sophomore forward Mikayla Hayes (14.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg), sophomore guards Ann Simonet (12.4 ppg) and Danielle Schaub (11.4 ppg) and senior guard Hannah Schaub (11.0 ppg, 4.6 assists per game) pace a balanced Park Center offense that has had four players score 20 or more points in a game.

Maple Grove could climb back into the Class 4A rankings with a victory over the Pirates. The Crimson (11-5) are battle-tested, having run a gauntlet of top competition this season. Four of Maple Grove's five losses have been to ranked Class 4A opponents (No. 7 Edina, No. 9 Centennial, No. 4 Minnetonka and No. 5 Elk River).

The Crimson rely on junior guard Mackenzie Barta (16.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and junior forward Allie Schmidt (10.2 ppg).
