East Ridge at Roseville
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6

East Ridge has an opportunity to rebound from back-to-back losses and gain some ground in the Suburban East Conference standings.

The Raptors enter the week on a two-game skid, losing at league rival Woodbury 45-38 on Dec. 19 and falling at Rosemount 63-37 on (Jan. 3). East Ridge (4-4, 1-2) has two sophomores who can break open a game in center Mariah Sexe (12.2 ppg) and guard Noelle Tomes (11.8 ppg).

The Raptors have played exceptionally well in the first half, outscoring their opponents 226-171, but must find a way to finish strong in the second if they want to gain ground on the Raiders.

The only loss No. 9-4A Roseville (8-1, 3-0) has came at the hands of No. 3-4A Minnetonka (53-22 on Dec. 6). The Raiders are on a seven-game winning streak, thanks in large part to senior forward and University of Colorado commit Monica Burich (19.0 ppg). If East Ridge decides to focus its defense on stopping the 6-foot-2 Burich, who was named the Pioneer Press Volleyball Player of the Year, Roseville can turn to sophomore guard Kaia Porter (9.4 ppg). Porter scored a game-high 18 points in a 52-36 win over Lakeville South on Dec. 30.
