Rosemount at Eastview
7:45 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6

Eastview and Rosemount entered the week undefeated in South Suburban Conference play and Tuesday's matchup could prove pivotal in the race for the league title.

Eastview had its eight-game winning streak snapped as Hopkins handed the Lightning their first loss of the season, a 68-55 defeat in the St. Olaf Holiday Classic championship game on Dec. 31.

Eastview rebounded by defeating Apple Valley 68-50 on Jan. 2.

The No. 1-4A Lightning (9-1, 2-0) rely heavily on senior guard Madison Guebert (21.9 ppg) and senior forward Samantha Trammel (16.0 ppg). Eastview has an additional scoring option in sophomore guard Rachel Ranke (8.0 ppg), who showed she can break a game open when she scored 16 points against Apple Valley.

Rosemount isn’t ranked, but the Irish are 8-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The only game they haven't won was a Dec. 16 matchup with Bloomington Jefferson that was postponed due to weather. Rosemount has been solid in the second half of games, outscoring opponents 222-122.

Senior guard Liz Evenocheck (12.8 ppg) and senior forward Ellie Vraa (10.1 ppg) pace the Irish.

Eastview swept the regular-season season series with Rosemount last season.
