Centennial at Elk River
7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16

Centennial picked up a marquee win with a 69-68 victory over No. 1-3A Park Center on Dec. 11. Senior guard Jaycie Gerding (15.8 points per game) leads the Cougars (2-2), but the team showed balance in the win over the Pirates, as four players scored in double figures. Gerding finished with 19 points, while Lexi Mathews and Sydney Stapleton each scored 11 and Sarah Grow added 10.

Elk River (2-1, No. 9-4A) has a little extra to play for in this Northwest Suburban Conference matchup. The Elks are 0-8 against the Cougars over the past four years, and this may be Elk River's best chance to snap the streak.

Sophomore guard Gabi Haack (15.3 ppg) and junior center Abi Scheid (13.7 ppg) are the catalysts for the Cougars' offense. The pair combined for 37 points in the Cougars’ 74-32 win over Blaine on Dec. 9.
