Mountain Iron-Buhl at Barnum
7:15 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13

No. 2-1A Mountain Iron-Buhl (3-0) is showing the same type of scoring touch that enabled the Rangers to make four consecutive trips to the state tournament.

Mountain Iron-Buhl, which averages nearly 80.0 points per game, is led by freshman center Mary Burke’s 13.7 points-per-game average. Sophomore guards Mya Buffetta and Chelsea Olson are both averaging 12.7 ppg, giving the Rangers a balanced offensive attack.

Barnum (2-0) has one senior on its roster and hasn't reached the state tournament since 2010, when it won the Class 1A title.

Freshman forward Emily Miletich scored 21 points in a 63-36 victory over Floodwood in the season opener, giving observers reason to believe the young Bombers may have what it takes to stay competitive.

Mountain Iron-Buhl defeated Barnum 54-36 the last time these teams met.
