White Bear Lake at Hill-Murray
7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2

White Bear Lake missed out on a trip to the Class 4A state tournament after losing to St. Paul Central in the Section 4 championship last year.

The No. 4-4A Bears (1-1) paid back the Minutemen with a 51-49 victory on Nov. 29.

White Bear Lake could be primed to vie for a trip to the state tournament this season with several players returning from a 25-4 team, including Alison Hinck. The junior guard is the Bears' top returning scorer and averaged 11.0 points per game.

Senior guard Niki Dual (10.7 ppg) joins Hinck in the backcourt, while senior forward Rachel Lauer (6.4 ppg), junior center Kate Brabenec (5.3 ppg) and junior forwards Brianna Karg (5.3 ppg) and Taite Anderson (4.7 pgg) are also back for White Bear Lake.

Hill-Murray begins the season ranked No. 6-3A and returns its top two scorers from last year’s 18-10 team in senior guards Lindsey Malecha (17.5 ppg) and Olivia Graskewicz (11.7 ppg).
