Eastview is 2-0 after opening with season with a 56-42 victory over No. 4 White Bear Lake on Nov. 28 and an 78-32 victory over Bloomington Kennedy the next day. The Lightning won with defense as they the held the Bears to 13 second-half points and limited the Eagles to nine first-half points.

Eastview's Madison Guebert and Samantha Trammel carried the scoring load against the Bears. Guebert had 27 points, going 5-for-10 from behind the three-point line and 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, while Trammel finished with 12 points (and 10 rebounds).

Trammel led all scorers with 18 points and had 12 rebounds against the Eagles. Rachel Ranke finished with 15 points and Erika Schlosser added 11 for the Lightning.

Eden Prairie kicks off its season with the game against Eastview, and the Eagles have a great deal of experience on their roster. Senior forward Emma Boehm, who averaged 10.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game, along with senior center Rachael Platt (5.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg) and senior guard Andi Jirele (4.7 ppg).
