No. 3-3A Thief River Falls at No. 1-3A Fergus Falls
7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8

Until Thief River Falls’ stumble at Detroit Lakes last Thursday, this game was shaping up to be a clash between two of the few remaining unbeaten teams in the entire state. The athletic and deep Prowlers had won their first 18 games, all by double digits (save narrow early season victories over Detroit Lakes and Hawley). Brooke Yaggie (18.7 ppg) leads four Prowlers in double-figure scoring. Top-ranked Fergus Falls, meanwhile, has won all 16 of its games by an average of 35.4 points per game. That’s on the heels of last year’s perfect regular season record. The Otters are impressive, anchored by super scorer Bailey Strand (25.0 ppg), 6-foot point guard Brianna Rasmusson (9.3 ppg) and post Anna Monke (12.8 ppg). This figures to be a preview of the Section 8AAA final in March.
